This last Friday I had the privilege to speak to a group of Westfield NJ business owners about SEO and search engine marketing strategies. The NNG group is a networking group, standing for Neighborhood Networking Group, that often has speakers come in and show the business owners strategies and tactics to help them run their business.
I went in with the plan to give the group a handful of things they could do that afternoon to help their business website do better in search. Some of these tactics included:
- Content Review
- Taking advantage of offline relationships to generate links and build strength
- Technical Review
- Aiming your content and providing the best answers for search queries
- Avoiding Adwords budget leaks
- Planning for future website necessities
Though SEO can be hard to do, there are some basic things that every business owner should make sure they are doing. Sometimes, in less competitive markets, these things on their own can get you traffic and new business. The tough things is staying on top of the rules and building your site strength. However, for those DIY’ers that can do the basics but need help with link building, we can come in and fill the gaps.
