As part of our continued efforts to provide a win-win situation for both my clients and the community, this August we partnered up with a great charity that I recently learned about at my local rotary. The MTN Organization, or Meet the Need, is a charity started from the grassroots by Yvette and Reggie Anderson. I couldn’t do justice to their wonderful and caring story and all of the passion that they put into helping the community with a number of different efforts from food drives to helping kids with supplies for schools. Yvette and Reggie explain it best themselves and I highly recommend if you have a rotary organization or any other group that wants a good speaker, give Yvette and Reggie a call. You will be glad you did. While you are at it, they could use help from donations, foods, backpacks, and more. Please take a look at the projects on their site. There is likely a cause that would align with your business or you personally. It is great there are people out there like them that do lots of grunt work to make it easier for all of us to help our communities.
Charity and SEO Go Hand in Hand
Supporting Meed the Need is a part of You Can Be Found’s ongoing efforts to help the community and our local small business clients by pooling resources to put money to a good place, while at the same time boosting local business SEO with a sponsorship link on a relevant local charity site. Links are the #1 individual factor for ranking highly in Google and local charity links are a great way to send a signal to Google that you are active in a specific geographic area, while at the same time knowing your dollars are going to a great cause. With Meet the Need serving all over the state of New Jersey, your business is likely locally relevant to something that they are doing.
Even those SEO DIYers out there who may not be a client of You Can Be Found, can help their sites by taking action with local charities like this. They can use all the help they can get. Find a local charity that you believe in and want to be a part of and reach out. You may be surprised. They often have sponsor pages or contributors and for a small investment, you can get that nice feeling of helping someone in need, but also help your own business get found. Give it a shot. If you are in NJ, give Yvette and Reggie a call. You can also follow their activities on their Facebook page. There is space for more names on that sponsor page.
