Another great SEO workshop with the Eastern Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce this month. I sat down with Chelsea Eriksen and Anna Lifton of Nobel Systems to dig in to two of their auto industry related sites focused on VIN history and recall news.
These sites are both in very competitive national markets, but in general are built fast and clean, so we really dug in to their link profile and the importance of quality, relevant links to their site to build up strength. Also, to build out great unique content to target some of those very specific questions people ask. When you are a bit behind the powerful national leaders in strength, you can sometimes make it up in content by creating the best answer pages for very specific relevant questions. In the mean time, you can build up your link profile and make yourself more competitive, and often this new content will get linked to on its own because it supplies such great answers to common questions.
We talked about link building programs as well as trying to “bake in” link opportunities through their business plan and online relationships. We covered a lot of ground and also dug in to some of the specific SEO concerns when going through a site redesign, which every business needs to do from time to time. We have seen huge mistakes in the past that can kill all of the SEO strength a site has gained, because a developer wasn’t aware of important aspects of a redesign from an SEO standpoint.
We are already booked for the December EMACC workshop, but I’m available for speaking engagements or workshops for your own business group. Just reach out and give a call.
