Do you use the Google Keyword planner? If you don’t and you do SEO or Google Adwords, you probably should. Unfortunately there is a down side. Google has recently removed access to a lot of key information in the planner to those it doesn’t feel are spending enough money on Adwords.  Yeah, I know, a little ridiculous. For some more info on what is officially happening, check out this article at Search Engine Land about it.  However, the gist is that unless you have a certain spending threshold, they only give you very general search volume categories for your keywords, rather than specific monthly search volume.

Yes, this is going to be very frustrating for those of you that use this tool regularly to determine SEO planning or even to decide if it is worthwhile to create a new adgroup and go after some specific service you may be offering. For small businesses not reaching their spend threshold, this is another hurdle to keep them from jumping on board.

For those of you that no longer have access or want it, I’m here to tell you that I do have access and we can help . Of course if you hire us for SEO or Google Adwords management, we handle this research for you as part of the package, but if you are a DIYer that just lost access to your main source of data, we can provide keyword information at a low cost.  Just give us a call.  Pulling down basic keyword data for you can cost as little as $25. If you are familiar with the tool, you know you can enter a landing page, and google will offer all the potential terms it deems relevant to the page, or you can enter a number of specific phrases and it will return many other it considers relevant.  Now you will likely want to go through all of that data and cut out a number of the terms, but these basic data dumps have a lot of great information.  We are happy to grab it for you and send you the file to play with.  Just let us know if you need help.
