It has become a distinct competitive advantage to take advantage of the latest “Posts” on Google My Business (GMB) pages for your business. If you are a local business or serve a local market even regionally, posts should be a part of your ongoing business plan. I have seen terms begin to trigger local results after a post about that topic, when they did not trigger them before. One of my posts led to a newly localized results set that put my site right on top at #1 in the local results map, whereas prior to my post I was nowhere to be seen.
The content of your posts is read by Google and factors into your search relevance on particular subjects. Your general activity on your GMB listing tells Google that you are active and using the Google My Business page to interact with potential customers. Sure, the downside is that Google owns even more of the online real estate that ends up with a sale. In many cases, traffic that would have gone to your site, stops with a call or sale from your GMB page, but as long as you are getting the business, you might as well take advantage of these competitive advantages and get your business up there above the others. Especially when doing a post each week can be so easy.
Google My Business Posts are Only a Few Clicks Away
So check out the video I have provided below and learn how to do your own posts. Doing it is half the battle. If you want to learn how to use them as an even greater tool, please give us a call. Google is investing more and more time and money into providing options within Google My Business, and keeping searchers on the search results page, rather than on your website. If you can easily take advantage, you better do it. Especially now, when many of your competitors don’t even know it is out there and can be a game changer. We offer Posts and Q&A management services for small businesses so you that you know somebody always has an eye on the GMB listing and you are using it to the best of your abilities. With the growing importance of online reviews, we also offer a review management tool that makes sure to follow Google’s guidelines and keep you out of trouble, while gaining an advantage there as well. Google is regularly updating the rules and many services don’t react quickly enough and break the rules. Our tool makes following the guidelines priority #1. Reviews aren’t helpful if they all get taken down.
