With the Boston marathon today, which I love to watch, I thought I would link to the mobile algorithm coming tomorrow.  Both require mobility and speed to succeed.  I have been warning everyone for weeks, so this shouldn’t be a big shocker, but just letting everyone know you may want to keep an eye on your traffic the coming few days, whether you are mobile friendly or not, for any dramatic changes.  The algorithm is supposed  to roll out over a few days, so I would definitely take a look end of week for any sharp changes and maybe check in each day.

Some things to be wary of.  I’ve had clients receive random emails from people trying to use scare tactics.  One client, who is mobile friendly, received an email from someone saying that they were not, but that they would fix their site for a few hundred dollars.  Don’t fall for this stuff. There are so many scammers out there trying to capitalize on google fear.  Use the mobile friendly test if you aren’t sure. I’ve provided the link before, but here it is again:

Put your site pages in there and Google will tell you specifically.
Wishing everyone running the marathon today tremendous luck and wishing all of you site owners out there luck in dealing with the big change.  Whether you are going in to it mobile friendly already, or are working on getting there.  Just do things the right way and you don’t have to worry about Google punishing you.  With the huge increase in mobile device use, you should want your site mobile friendly anyway to not lose business. Good luck!

We will keep people up to date next week on some of the news coming out of the big changes this week.
